Health & Safety in VR

VR is the opportunity to show both hazard identification in a real world or actual location, rather than vague digital examples.  There is also the opportunity to influence worker behaviour and safety culture by immersing participants in the real world long term consequences of procedural failure and non-compliance.

Safety Induction

Safety inductions are often tedius but a very necessary part of specific site safety for visiting contractors.  Working beyond just tick box compliance, VR provides a point of novel interest for contractors jaded with typical induction processes,  and increases genuine retention of information provided.

VR can help staff identify potential hazards in the actual work site or area that they will be working in, rather than using generic images that have less relevance.  This gives the worker a more immediate and felt understanding of their own work environment.

Using narrative to walk staff though the long and difficult personal journey that happens after a serious accident, it is possible to motivate culture change by providing the visualisation of extended consequences of an industrial or workplace accident.
